Department SummaryThe Everett Hospital Float Pool provides care
with an emphasis on culturally sensitive, evidence based nursing
practice. While regularly scheduled, the members of the float pool
are deployed on a shift by shift to provide nursing care to
patients in the Med/Surg/Telemetry and Geriatric Psychiatry units
at Everett Hospital.Job Purpose
The Milieu Counselor is a member of the multidisciplinary team who,
under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, is responsible for a
safe and structured service, as well as attending to the individual
needs of patients in crisis in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
-The Milieu Counselor performs safety checks, is assigned groups,
interacts 1:1 with patients as needed, and is able to de-escalate
aggressive patients.Qualifications/Experience:
High School graduate or GED required.
Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers by the American
Heart Association or American Red Cross is required. -1 year
previous mental health experience in a Psych locked unit strongly
preferred.Experience in a Geri-psych unit is highly preferred.
All newly hired candidates must successfully complete a job
specific physical agility test.
