Under the direction of the VP of Real Estate Lending, oversee
Underwriting, Processing and Funding groups to ensure timely and
compliant loan production. Lead facilitation of an effective
production workflow between Loan Officers, Processors, Underwriters
and Closers to create an environment that delivers exceptional
service to internal customers and members.
Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of real estate lending
guidelines and compliance with secondary market, as well as
awareness in the field of credit granting (i.e., government
agencies, federal and state regulations, data processing
requirements, future developments in the field, etc.).
Manage workflows and volume, meeting allotted times-frames and
re-evaluation of procedures to improve productivity, loan quality,
and member service efficiencies.
Responsible for ensuring staff is adhering to PCU, GSE, and FHA
requirements in addition to federal and state regulatory
Handle/oversee centralized operations of the department.
Coordinate daily operations of the Real Estate lending
department by allocating and coordinating work flow and work
schedules, direct employees in the more complex phases of work,
monitor for accuracy and efficiency, train new employees and
cross-train existing staff, direct staff personnel issues such as
attendance and vacation, performance evaluations and compliance
with credit union policies and procedures.
Ensure policies, procedures, secondary market guidelines, and
federal and state regulations are all adhered to.
Prepare, maintain and/or oversee department records to ensure
Respond to all inquiries and requests by internal/external
customers. Provide guidance to less experienced closers.
Maintain and distribute rate information as needed, including
but not limited to rate indices for adjustable rate mortgages.
Perform department related duties as needed, approving/denying
mortgages within established guidelines.
Maintain and periodically review and update policies and
procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of department and
compliance with all applicable regulations.
Hold regularly scheduled meetings with employees to evaluate
work status, status of departmental goals and procedural
Maintain HMDA LAR for accuracy.
Perform other duties as required.
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in
business or related field required.
At least 10 to 15 years of progressively increasing work
experience in Real Estate Lending in a financial institution
required. At least 4 years of significant managerial experience of
a Real Estate Lending department and staff.
Must register/be registered by the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing
System and Registry.
FHA Direct Endorsement required. Experience with CFPB/TRID
Knowledge of real estate lending operational practices and
regulatory requirements, including Secondary market knowledge and
experience in Mortgage Servicing.
Computer software proficiency to include MS Office and assorted
banking software and internet research skills required.
Proven ability to gather and analyze data and information, draw
logical conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Effective presentation skills. Must possess strong quantitative
Ability to maintain a positive and upbeat Credit Union
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
simultaneously with time management/organizational/multi-tasking
skills while keeping each on schedule and on budget.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet tight

administrative requirements of the Credit Union and the individual
needs of staff members.
