Job Description ASTRO is a non profit organization that provides after school programs to children ages 5 (kindergarten) to 13. We are looking for an experienced nurse practitioner to join our dynamic team. Your primary responsibility will be to provide health services to students when needed. For example, youll treat injuries and and mild to acute sicknesses, or support students with chronic illnesses. Youll also help with preventive care by educating students on how to avoid communicable diseases and having proper hygiene. To succeed in this role, you must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate with children and their parents/guardians. Responsibilities Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness Develop health plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities Detect health problems in early stages through regular screenings Keep track of students vaccination records Update students medical history Ensure environment is safe for children and staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases) Provide psychological services as needed Requirements Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing Required license or certification Current Rhode Island RN license Must be CPR certified Must successfully complete a background check including CANTS (Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System) clearance Benefits This position is currently a part time position; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday between 2:00 - 7:00p. You can set your own schedule. We offer paid time off.
