value chains.The Global Business Development Director for Teknor
Apex will lead our global BD team and related functions to develop,
manage & close growth opportunities in existing, adjacent, and new
markets. The Global BD Director will manage the BD portfolio to
maximize Teknor Apex Value across all markets and Businesses. They
will collaborate closely with Business leadership and the Marketing
Managers to prioritize the BD portfolio and implement market growth
strategies. The Global Director will lead the team to effectively
translate and enable the Global Sales Organization.We are searching
for a professional that has an excellent track record of developing
new business and creating long-term value for organizations and
leading global teams to do the same. We are looking for a leader
who will bring excellence and best practices for their team to
identify adjacent and new pipeline opportunities, project manage
the development tollgates and commercialize new business with

team members in NA, Asia, and Europe. In this role, you will:
- Lead the Business Development team to meet division and company
objectives for new business pipeline development, management of the
opportunity pipeline and realization of the business targets for
revenue & profit intensity.
- Function as a key member of the Vinyl Value Chain Global
Leadership Team and work closely with Specialty Value Chain
Leadership team on priorities and projects.
- Collaborate with Leadership teams, Marketing Teams & Sales
Teams to execute the company strategies and drive the growth
aspirations of Teknor Apex.
- Build team and organization capability for new business
development in adjacent & new/new applications and markets,
including new market and application analysis & plans, new business
project management, lead Customer(s) relationship management,
closing new business and translating and enabling future
sales.
- Manage and implement post-sale processes and hand off to sales
organization to ensure implementation and follow-up, including
marketing communications, digital marketing, and sales
training.
- Increase the value of Teknor's BD portfolio to meet annual
financial plans.
- Create an environment and build or support business processes
where collaboration with Technical, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain
and Manufacturing exceed the overall requirements for successful
commercialization of new markets, applications, and customers.
- Build and manage effective relationships with Customers,
partners, and internal stakeholders. Lead team to manage assigned
projects, market and lead customer relationships to maximize
customer and market potential including revenue, profit, volume,
and market share.
- Lead team to identify and document market trends and customer
needs that will drive new product development and new business
development efforts.
- Lead team to develop and monitor a robust new product pipeline
through effective use of the CTC (Concept to commercialization) and
Opportunity Management processes across the Company.
- Is the primary point of contact between the TA
innovation/incubator teams and the core businesses. Manages the
collaboration between value chains and incubator to give and
receive growth projects.
- Position has responsibility or authority for the direction of
others in a global setting (direct reports and in a matrix
setting)
- Position has budget responsibilities up to $5M and revenue
responsibilities up to $500 M.
- Work is basically non-standardized and widely varied, involving
many complex and significant variables. Analytic ability and
inductive thinking are required to devise new methods in situations
where previously accepted methods have proven inadequate.Education
and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Position requires at least 15 years of experience in specialty
materials industry in a multinational environment.
- Four year degree in a field of study such as chemistry,
plastics, engineering, business or marketing.
- Master's degree in a Technical Discipline, Marketing,
Technology or Business Administration is valuable
- 10+ years of business development or market development
experience with at least 5 years managing a team of growth
professionals
- Experience and successful track record in developing materials
solutions for business in manufacturing centric conversion channels
including extrusion, injection molding, films, coatings,
composites, textiles. -
- Experience with developing new business in specialty, value
based markets and applications preferred.
- Electrical & electronics including wire & cable, medical,
weatherable/exterior markets, transportation, consumer & industrial
experience is valuable. Experience with emerging mega trends such
as 5G, IOT, EV/AV & Green materials/Circular Economy is also
valuable. Exposure or familiarity with B2C markets and home center
channels is a plus.
