Building Enclosure Science (BES) is a Providence-based construction
consulting firm nationally recognized for developing and delivering
dynamic solutions for the built environment. BES provides
investigation, testing, design, rehabilitation, and commissioning
of the building envelope. As an employer, we offer endless

testing industry. We are currently looking for a Consultant I to
join our dynamic team.
Requirements:
- Act as a project manager on small to mid-sized projects with
guidance from Managers and/or Supervisors, acting as a client
contact, initiating service proposals, responsible for the
implementation of high-quality building science services
- Perform forensics, condition assessments, and destructive and
non-destructive testing of existing building systems
- Perform site observation inspections, document field conditions
with digital photography for existing buildings and/or new
construction
- Assist in performing on-site field testing of building
assemblies and draft a report of testing findings
- Provide litigation support in the form of expert reports and
testimony with technical ability and expertise
- Prepare technical reports documenting observational findings,
synthesizing data and prepare recommendations for review and
guidance by Senior Managers and/or Supervisors
- Provide engineering support for the design of wood framed
systems, including project plans, details, and specifications
- Able to lead technical staff in project assignments
- Assist in providing quality assurance services during the
construction phase of projects
- Develop a working knowledge of building science design codes
and industry standards
- Is expected to pursue client contacts referred to him/her and
write proposals and develop budgets for Principal review
- Mentor, coach and develop direct reports and other team
members.

Education:
- College degree required: Bachelors degree in Architectural
Engineering, Architecture, Engineering, Building and Construction
Technology or an Associates Degree in related technical courses
(Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Historical
Preservation)
- 5-7 years of experience
- Able to work on routine (defined in terms of prior experience)
problems independently.
- Ability to write detailed and concise reports documenting field
conditions with analysis
- Able to act as project manager for small and moderate size
assignments. Work is closely supervised by Principal
in-charge.
- Able to serve as project engineer for more complex assignments
under direction of project manager.
- Able to present to client groups and professional
organizations.
- Able to prepare and deliver a quality presentation with
preparation time but with minimal guidance and coaching from
supervisor
- Able to be responsible for direct client contact within context
of existing work.
- Ability to work independently assisting the project team in
document organization, drafting, and report writing
