Job Description:
Job DescriptionAs a member of the CEO's Association Leadership
team, the Director of Development is responsible for the
implementation of the Association's strategic developmental goals
and to provide leadership to the YMCA Annual Support Campaign,
special events, grant writing and development communications. The
Director of Development is responsible to the CEO and works in
collaboration with the Executive Director team.QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree in business, communications, or marketing
and five (5) years of previous fundraising experience, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A demonstrated understanding of the YMCA Annual Campaign
preferred.
- Excellent oral and written presentation skills. Superior
interpersonal skills and strong presentation skills required.
- Strong abilities in consensus building.
- The ability to effectively represent the Y under a variety of
circumstances, including interactions/meetings with funders, staff
and volunteers, and at networking opportunities.
- Must be a proactive and creative problem-solver, must be able
to work both independently and with a broad range of internal and
external partners to develop relationships, facilitate
collaboration and achieve results.
- Demonstrated understanding of fundraising best practices in
annual giving, special events and working with volunteers.
- Demonstrated experience with social media platforms such as
Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter. Proficiency with
Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook),
Daxko (or similar donor/constituent management database).
- Experience establishing and cultivating strong relationships
with staff and ability to use good judgement, take initiative and
make recommendations.
- Must demonstrate strong organizational and time-management
skills, with outstanding attention to detail and ability to uphold
deadlines. Strong skills in creating powerful, compelling written
and oral communications for fundraising.
- The ability to convey complex ideas via presentations, emails
and face-to-face communications.
- Able to work productively and accurately while under pressure
in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

FUNCTIONS:
- In conjunction with the Executive Directors, plan and develop
the Annual Campaign.
- Serve our diverse communities equitably and act with an
inclusive, anti-racist lens at all times; promote a respectful
culture at the Y.
- Continuously monitor Annual Campaign progress.
- Provide corrective action/strategies to Annual Campaign as
needed to ensure goals are met.
- Provide a resource and training, counsel, and direct service to
the branches as needed to achieve their Annual Campaign goals.
- Assist the Executive team and branches to identify and
cultivate potential major donors and board members.
- Provide guidance to branches on special event planning and
execution. Including the Association's annual golf tournament,
including the event's fundraising activities and execution.
- Collaborate with marketing on organization strategies, social
media presence and storytelling, especially for brand
alignment.
- Consistently provide friendly and courteous assistance
exceeding customer expectations every day, which includes gilding
and maintaining healthy professional relationships with customers
and staff.
- Expertise in both foundation and government grant writing. YMCA

Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position manages all employees of
the department and is responsible for the performance management
and hiring of the employees within that department.Work
EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as
computers and phones. Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit for an extended duration

duration

duration Salary Range$65,000 - 80,000
