This is the most senior IT leadership role across the company and is responsible for overall technology strategy, execution, maintenance, and leadership. This position works closely with Collette's leaders to ensure that business strategy and technology strategy are tightly aligned. This position provides vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives and directs the planning, implementation, operation, and support of all IT systems.
The VP of Engineering & IT will help us accelerate our digital transformation and will work alongside a growing product management organization and lead our engineering efforts across B2B and B2C services.
The VP of Engineering & IT is expected to lead the strategy, architecture, and roadmap of all key technology systems - internal and external. The role is based in Rhode Island, however with some flexibility for distributed work.
Candidates must have a proven track record of delivering technology improvements that align to a company's competitive strategy and that delivered tangible customer benefits.
Responsibilities:--- Develop and maintain an IT workforce with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills and competencies that balance the needs between growing the agility required to achieve digital business objectives and ensuring the core IT functions and current portfolio of systems/platforms are reliable, stable, secure and efficient.--- Understand and translate our competitive strategy to technology prioritization. --- Work with product management and engineering teams to ensure that Collette delivers great user experiences to our customers and partners. --- Lead team of engineers, architects and IT professionals across cloud hosting, CRM, CDP, CMS, websites, travel booking engines, data services, marketing technology integrations and more.--- Lead the IT sourcing strategy and provides oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management; work with procurement and oversee the negotiation and approval of all IT vendor contracts; and the subsequent administration of the contracts; maintain strong relationships with key IT vendors.--- Lead / manage IT staffing including: recruiting, interviewing, scheduling, review process, performance coaching, disciplinary actions, etc.--- Remain current and aware of changing technology trends, regulations and laws which might impact the organization and our business--- Lead the development of engineering roadmaps --- Improve and continuously develop the team, including the use of agile methodologies--- Help improve the capturing, storing, integration and flow of data throughout Collette--- Key stakeholder management internally, to ensure a "bridge" between general management, marketing, sales, finance - to engineering and IT. --- Lead market and competitive research, as well as research trends and solutions--- Provide frequent verbal and written updates to the management team --- Develop, track, and control the development of annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing and operations.--- Communicate clear vision for IT through effective messaging and partnering with other leaders and team members ensuring technology alignment with the business.--- Track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics.
Requirements:--- Leading or co-leading internal technology transformation programs/projects--- At least 5+ years of experience leading an engineering team--- Vendor selection and technology procurement leadership --- Travel technology vendor management experience is ideal --- B2C/consumer facing services experience - including agile methodologies --- BSc or MSc in computer science or similar field--- Familiarity with cloud computing and a modern "cloud first" stack --- Material experience with leading CRMs and integration strategies --- Data architecture experience and knowledge - for a modern, scalable set of systems o Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the IT workforce.
