Job Description:
Working under the direction of the Engineering Technical Writer
- Senior Team Lead 3, will be responsible for writing content to
explain to engineers, scientists, and students how to use
sophisticated software to model dynamic and embedded systems;
interacting directly with end users to analyze information
requirements; contributing to the design of cutting-edge software;
communicating creative ways to use MathWorks products to solve
challenging problems; writing user-focused content that explains
how to use tools to design, model, and simulate engineering
systems; developing examples and tutorials to show how to use
software features; working with customers and customer facing
groups to identify use cases, workflows, user tasks, and
information needs; identifying missing topics and filling gaps in
existing information; participating in the software development
process; reviewing software requirements and functional designs,
and providing comments and suggesting improvements; writing for a
technical audience; explaining engineering or science concepts in
writing; developing and documenting simple, creative demonstrations
of practical solutions; and working collaboratively within
cross-function product teams and a multi-writer team. Education and Experience: Masters degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering or Computer Science and no experience. OR Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering or Computer Science and five (5) years of experience in
job offered or five (5) years of experience in development or
technical writing of simulation software. Special Requirements: Demonstrated expertise in design, development or testing of
simulation software using MATLAB or Simulink. Demonstrated expertise developing and presenting user
documentation for web or desktop based content. Demonstrated expertise writing technical reports or publications
on electrical engineering topics -- linear controls systems,
wireless systems, and digital signal processing. Demonstrated expertise performing functional design,
qualification, and testing in a software development and testing
