Job Description:
Duties: Perform optical system design and implementation.
Analyze product trends and contribute to product and feature recommendations.
Attend product roadmap and strategy meetings with customer systems
architects. Engage in detailed customer design review and internal
product specification review and set performance and feature
requirements for next generation product. Perform customer RFI/RFP support. Generate
white papers for industry publications. Engage in detailed customer
architecture reviews. Participate in selected conferences and trade shows to
engage with customers/competition - OFC, ECOC. Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in
Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field and three (3) years of
experience designing, developing, and testing optical network components;
or in the alternative, a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in
Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field and five (5)
years of experience as indicated above. Also requires: demonstrated expertise (DE) supporting
40/100/400G coherent detection based optical systems, and performing margining,
performance measurement, and optimization of optical line systems; DE
utilizing Matlab for data analysis, instrumentation, measurement, automation, and
GUI interface; DE supporting customer integration of coherent DSP
ASICs, optical components and subsystems, including DSP setting
optimization, software integration, hardware bring-up, and design review; DE
interfacing with multiple Tier 1 & Tier 2 telecom equipment providers, as
well as cloud network operators; and DE providing technical and engineering
support to manufacturing and operations teams, including manufacturing line
