outlined in the plan.DescriptionReporting to the Head of Global
Risk Solutions (GRS) Strategy & Corporate Development, this role is
responsible for defining and executing the inorganic growth
strategy for the -$25B commercial and specialty (re)insurance
business, Global Risk Solutions (GRS). This high-visibility
position requires organizational agility, strategic thinking,
operational execution, market expertise, leadership, and strong
communication skills. The Senior Director, Corporate Development
will collaborate with senior leaders to identify inorganic growth
opportunities aligned with GRS strategy. Interaction with internal
segments (North America, Global Surety, Liberty International
Insurance, Liberty Mutual Reinsurance) and corporate functions
(M&A, Legal, Tax, HR) is essential. The ideal candidate will
have experience in high-pressure, high-performance environments and
the ability to manage multiple projects
simultaneously.Responsibilities
- Strategy Setting: Partner with GRS senior leadership to define
and prioritize M&A appetite and initiatives aligned with GRS's
long-term strategy.
- Deal Evaluation: Oversee assessment of M&A opportunities,
leveraging deep understanding of the commercial and specialty
(re)insurance landscape. Prepare and present findings to the GRS
Capital Committee for support.
- Deal Management: Lead the management of M&A initiatives
from initiation to closing, ensuring alignment and progress through
deal-specific steering committees.
- Due Diligence Coordination: Organize internal resources for
thorough due diligence in collaboration with Corporate
M&A.
- Integration/Separation Management: Oversee the integration or
separation of deals in alignment with business leadership
post-closing.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain
strong relationships with internal teams and stakeholders.
- Manager Responsibilities: Lead GRS Strategy & Corporate
Development staff and support their professional
development.Qualifications
- 7+ years (preferably within the insurance sector) of experience
in corporate development, strategy M&A, and/or financial
planning & analysis (FP&A), with transaction execution
experience across the lifecycle.
- Bachelor's degree in finance/economics-related discipline; MBA
or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Strong influencing skills with the ability to build consensus
across multiple levels and functions.
- Ability to influence actions and drive results among parties
with different agendas.
- Driven, flexible, and capable of succeeding in ambiguous, less
structured situations.
- Highly motivated individual able to work independently, with
flexibility to meet transaction deadlines, including outside of
