Responsibilities: This position will review transactions recorded
against balance sheet and P/L account monthly; post necessary
correcting entries; review processes for appropriate controls and
streamline processes for efficiency. They will also prepare audit
schedules and review with auditors directly. Staff Accountants are
assigned one or more specific areas of accounting as defined by
their area of major focus in the following roles: Cash and
Accruals, Allocations, Fixed Assets, Revenue & Accounts Receivable,
Payroll & Employee Benefits, Inter-Company Accounting,
Consolidations and Financial Reporting, Internal Controls and
Compliance Reporting. Staff Accountant II professionals have
relevant experience which allows managers to oversee their work
with less direct supervision than Staff Accountant I
professionals.Reviews general ledger transactions for accuracy and
completeness on assigned accounts in the balance sheet and income
statement. Prepares analysis and schedules of these accounts for
review by a senior level accountant or supervisor.Maintains and
develops excel spreadsheets used for account analysis and
generation of journal entries for the monthly and annual closing of
the books.Prepares and posts journal entries to the general ledger
for completion of financial statements.Performs bank and account
reconciliations for assigned accounts.Performs review of monthly
departmental expenses and assists in the allocation of incurred
expenses based on data from engineering, maintenance, and corporate
lab cost centers.Assists in the preparation and distribution of
financial reports to management.Assists in the preparation and
maintenance of Internal Control Documents.Prepares various census
and regulatory reports as required.Prepares annual Prepared by
Client (PBC) schedules to support the annual audit and collects
documentation to satisfy audit requestsParticipates in meetings on
topics related to their areas of responsibilities to address any
issues, changes or enhancements in these areas.Participates on
miscellaneous projects to assist senior accountants or the
supervisor on special assignments or analyses to support the
adoption of accounting changes in GAAP or the execution of changes
in accounting procedures or policies.Performs additional duties and
responsibilities as assigned.Maintains compliance with all company
policies and procedures.Travel to plant locations is expected up to
10%.Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Microsoft Excel
experience is required.Work is substantially complex and varied,
and requires the selection and application of technical and/or
detailed guidelines. Moderate analytic ability is needed to gather
and interpret data where results/answers can be found after
analysis of several facts.Position requires 2 - 5 years of general
accounting experience.Four-year degree in accounting or
business.Physical Requirements: Ability to safely and successfully
perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA
and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting
qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.Ability to
maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA
and other federal, state and local standardsMust be able to lift
and carry up to 15 lbsMust be able to talk, listen and speak
clearly on telephone
