Measurement Process Development Engineer serves as ABIOMED's
in-house expert for developing processes to measure high precision
metal, ceramic and plastic components. This role is a key technical
resource for the company's continued growth, and is a great
opportunity for someone to make a difference at one of the
fastest-growing medical technology companies, focused on recovering
hearts and saving lives. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: ---
Develop and implement measurement processes to support introduction
of new components --- Evaluate current measurement process, and
when necessary, develop and implement improvements --- Train or
oversee the training of technicians and operators in the use of new
measurement tools, fixtures and/or processes --- Draft and complete
gauge R&R protocols and reports, IQ/OQ/PQ protocols and reports
and engineering change orders --- Develop and/or work with internal
partners to design and implement fixturing, gauges, and templates,
to support incoming inspection measurement processes. --- Work with
suppliers to support measurement process development where
necessary, ensuring alignment with Abiomed's internal processes ---
Partner with Supplier Engineering and Development Engineering to
complete project deliverables to meet program milestones --- Assist
in the analysis of defective components at incoming inspection ---
Reinforce current best practices for gauge use --- Collaborate with
a broad team of engineers and technicians to meet job
objectives
